Who's for Strawberries?

I mean Strawberry Whipette's! Angie Delarie has a gorgeous new range of digi images out called the Strawberry Whipette's. I just love these images - perfect for SMASH* pages. I like to colour these images digitally on my PC using photoshop. I think it suits these images and makes them really pop on your page!

This is a SMASH* page done in my mini for the 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook - it is day 20 twine. I'm just loving doing this challenge and would you believe it I'm actually up to day 26. I want to try and finish the challenge within the month - I'm nearly there. Sorry but my blogging of the pages hasnt kept up with the creating but some of the pages are for upcoming DT committments etc - I will show them all eventually!

I made the twine rosette, the Bingo card is from Simple Stories and everything else is from my stash.

Top 10 Places For Coffee!

Hi SMASH*ers

Here is a SMASH* layout I've done for The Stamp Spot.
This page is a Top 10 list of my favourite coffee places. Although I come from a scrapbooking background this page theme (with a top 10) is something I never would have Scrapped about. But in my retro blue SMASH* folio there is a page designed for a top 10. I love it, so funky and now dont you think!!

I've kept the decoration of this page to a minimum using the already printed SMASH* page, a banner, a piece of patterned paper then a photo and a few embellishments. I love to use alphas lots in my SMASH*ing. The blue SMASH* folio is available here and I've also used some of the gorgeous twinery twine available here. The papers and chipboard die cuts are Dear Lizzie, the alphas are October Afternoon and the rest is from my stash.

A banner is a fun accent to any SMASH* page and I made this myself using strips of patterned paper and a length of twine - too easy!

The Stamp Spot currently have 25% off their SMASH* products and they have a fabulous range of stamps and embellishments!

Sharing some more SMASH*ing!

I've shared a few SMASH* pages on FB recently but haven't yet shown them here, sorry!
This first page is all about my youngest daughters love for Squinkies!
Isnt she adorable! I've used a heap of my favourite products here including Amy Tangerine stamps, washi and die cuts, a Freckles and Pigtails flat backed button.

This next page is "Currently Me". I've seen a number of people do this and wanted to do my own version. I'd like to redo it ever 6-12 months to record what I like at the time!!
I've used more Amy Tangerine stamps and die cuts, a Freckles and Pigtails flat backed button, October Afternoon flag and alphas, Typo stamp, Smiggle stamp.

This last page was done for the 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook - it is day 9 journalling.

I've use a heap more amazing products here including Typo tape ribbon, October Afternoon button, Amy Tangerine paper clip, Studio calico wood veneer bird and a gorgeous image (Arcadia Bear Lover) by Angie Delarie.

Coraline Parties with Cakewalk!

This week Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Aud Sentiments where the theme is to "Tag It" - pop your sentiment on a tag.

I had fun making this card, tags feature on most of my cards anyway. I decided to make a cutesy girlie birthday cards using my favourite papers at the moment - Cakewalk by October Afternoon!
I coloured the gorgeous Party Pinkette Coraline in greys again (I love this look) and guess what ... 3 of my copics ran out. Can you believe it. I was initially surprised as I've only had them for 11 months and I dont do that much colouring, but I do a lot of grey colouring and it was the 3 lightest shades that do get the most use. Now they are refilled thanks to my LSS and only cost $2 each which I thought was very reasonable. Anyways, here's my card! What do you think?

Card Recipe:
Stamps : Party Pinkette Coraline (Tickled Pink Stamps) tag and sentiment (Bizzy Becs)
Cardstock: Confetti white, garden green (Stampin' Up!)
Papers: CakeWalk collection (October Afternoon)

Coloured with: Copics (cool Greys)
Other : ribbon (October Afternoon), doilie, cupcake sticker (Stash)

Yessiree, Its Joke Time!

Hi SMASH*ers

Here is a SMASH* layout I've done for The Stamp Spot.
This is done in my retro blue SMASH* folio. The pages in this folio have quirky retro quotes and pictures, I just love it. I tend to get inspiration for my layout from this.
This page is about all the jokes my youngest daughter gets from her Grandparents - she is quite the comedian!

The blue folio, swatch tape, like this tape, pads, secret mini pockets, label maker, red and blue stickies, flag paper clips and the tiny flag clips I've used are all SMASH* (you can find them here). I've also used some of the gorgeous twinery twine available here. I made the fabric yo-yo myself , the flat backed button is from Freckles and Pigtails, and the papers are Amy Tangerine. The rest is from my stash.

The SMASH* label maker is a great way to include words in your layout instead of using alphas. I also love using twine. Here I've used it for a border but there is so many ways it can be used.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland with Christina!

This week Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Winter Wonderland Challenges where the theme is Christmas - but with the twist to use your a sentiment as your focal point.

Wow, Christmas. Hmm, I'm not ready to think about that yet. Last year I started to make my Christmas cards at the start of the year. But this year it hasnt interested me in the slightest. Part of the reasoning is I'm waiting for the yummy new Christmas products to be released! So, to tell the truth this challenge really stumped me. And also to have the sentiment as the focal point - how is that possible with an image? I know I've seen cards in the past that have the image as a watermark so I tried to do something like that here. I love vintage Christmas cards so I went back to my roots with the vintage look and printed the image on kraft paper then just cut it out and didnt colour it. Perhaps not my favourite card but I think it works. And, do you recognise the ribbon and bell? Its from a Lindt Easter Bunny - pretty dont you think!

Card Recipe:
Stamps : Lil Victorian Christmas Lolita Christina, sentiment and die (Tickled Pink Stamps)
Cardstock: Confetti white, early espresso, kraft (Stampin' Up!)
Papers: Christmas Past (Graphic 45)
Other : Fleur De Lise accents dies (Spellbinders), doilie, wooden bird, bell and ribbon (Stash)

30 day SMASH* Challenge, Days 3 and 7

Hi, My name is Karyn and I'm a SMASH*aholic!! And loving it!!
If you love SMASH*ing then perhaps you would like to join us for a 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook.

Here is the list of Challenges. You can do them at your leisure - no time constraints. It is just meant to inspire you!
I'm using my SMASH* mini for this entire challenge.
Day 3 for me (Favourite Thing) is SMASH*ing! At the moment it is definitely my favourite thing. Craft for me is my release ... me time ... creative time. I love it!
Day 7 (Favourite Thing Ever) for me is Craft!  I've loved to craft my whole life (yes, and generations of my family before me also did the same). I've done quilting, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, macrame (lol), and before kids I used to sew all my clothes (blouses, suits, evening dresses, ...). I've always sewn all my curtains, table cloths etc (must be the frugal farming background). Anyway, moving on. Now I love all types of papercraft - mainly cardmaking, scrapbooking and SMASH*ing!
My craft area is the dining table in the middle of our living area. Always messy and gets lots of interesting comments from visitors but it means I'm near the kids and I can craft a few minutes here and a few minutes there! works for me anyway!!
I've use a heap of amazing products here including Typo, Amy Tangerine, Freckles and Pigtails and SMASH*.

SMASH*ing Washi, Buttons, and Someone Special!

I'm just loving participating in the 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook. I'm also doing my best to keep up!
This post covers my pages for
Day 2: Washi tape
Day 4: Someone Special
Day 5: Buttons
I'll come back to Day 3 another time because I'm waiting on some photos!

I'm using my SMASH* mini which is perfect for this 30 day challenge

Washi Tape - I have plenty of it (but am always needing more). Strips of washi add plenty of interest to this page!
Someone Special - My darling hubby of course. I saw this quote on FB recently and it so reminded me of many of the conversations we have.
Buttons - I love putting buttons on most of my pages. Flat backed buttons, October Afternoon buttons and wooden buttons are my favourites (just seem to make my books so bulky tho)

It's SMASH* time at The Stamp Spot!

Hi Everyone

**If you are looking for the Aussie Girls SMASH* blog hop with giveaways then please scroll down**

Wowee, how lucky am I. I've currently got a gig over at The Stamp Spot Blog showcasing SMASH*ing. Got to be happy with that!!

Some of you may be asking: What is SMASH*?

SMASH* is a brand designed by K&Company and has a range of gorgeous folios/journals (each with different themes and patterned pages) and fun accessories like washi, pockets, note pads, tabs and stickies. The Stamp Spot online store has a fabulous range and if you are anything like me you will need it all!!

SMASH*ing can be anything you like - there are no rules. For me, SMASH*ing is a bit like an art journal and a bit like scrapbooking (depending on my mood). Many people refer to it as SMASH*booking! It is much more informal than scrapbooking and I find it much quicker which is one of the reasons I like it.

The page I'd like to show you today is done in my SMASH* mini and is titled "All about Me". I've just started my mini which is going to be used for a 30 day SMASH* challenge on Facebook- a page a day of what I'm doing, thinking, love etc. How fun is that!

You can see that my style is more scrapbook like and I love to use embellishments. On most of my pages I seem to use paper doilies, flat backed buttons, tags, bags, wood veneers, and of course photos!! The mini folio, black dots tape, swatch tape, top 10 pad, and the flag clips I've used are all SMASH* (you can find them at The Stamp Spot online store). I've also used a selection of other bits from my stash and made my own rolled ribbon flower.

I've used The Stamp Spot July challenge spots on this page (scallop doilie and lace trim, black spotted SMASH* tape, rolled satin ribbon flower). Head on over, join the challenge and be in the running to win a fabby prize!
