Jessica's Favourite Christmas Ornament!

My youngest daughter loves teddy bears and soft toys. She has so many but she still wants every new one she sees. They are all very special to her and if one goes missing then there are many tears. Brown teddy bears are her favourite and I have one that is dressed as an angel with wings and is a decoration for the Christmas tree. The photo on this page is of her adoring this special ornament.

I've used the December '13 full tart kit from Lime Tart for this layout. Many of the papers in this kit are shades of red so I thought I would make this a "red" page. I started with a background of white cardstock that I splattered with red Dylusions ink. I then added a strip of patterned paper across the top of the page.

Then I clustered a number of layers of the patterned papers, a white paper doilie, and one of the red tags (in a glassine bag from a previous kit), under my photo.
I added a red resin flower and enamel dots around the photo and across the page. I also used the Studio Calico alpha stickers for my title.
I cut out some banner shapes and attached them to the plastic tabs in the kit. I then added 2 of the candy cane brads and threaded twine through the banner and canes.
In addition to the Dec'13 Full Tart kit from the Lime Tart store I've used Stampin' Up! white cardstock and scallop edge punches; Kellie Stamps "you make me smile" from the Just for you stamp set; Studio Calico flair and 3D diecut from the Magical collection; and white paper doilie, red twine & red sequin strip from my stash.

The Christmas Pageant!

I'm using my Holiday SMASH* folio to document Christmas 2013 for our family (and all the related events that lead up to it!). The first event was the Adelaide Christmas Pageant which was held at the start of November. It was perfect weather and we arrived very early to get a fantastic viewing spot. This is one of our family traditions and we have many special memories.
On the LH page I've added a silver paper doilie, a shipping tag a small velum bag a white bitty blooms, a micros feathers (sprayed with silver Colorshine), and a today speech bubble, all from D-Lish ScrapsI used my Motex tape writer and some green tape to write the title.

I added some papers from the Studio Calico Magical collection, velum die cuts from Pink Paislee Snow Villiage collection; and used some stamps from Kellie Stamps - "Joy" from the Christmas Tradition stamp set and "hohoho" from the Christmas 2013 stamp set. I also added some twine, washi, enamel dots and a flower from my stash.
On the RH page I've layered 4 photos on a white paper doilie along with more paper strips from the Studio Calico Magical collection.
I've then added a heap of D-Lish Scraps embellishments including and a white bitty blooms, a micros feathers (sprayed with silver Colorshine), Freckled Fawn dew drops gold arrow, Freckled Fawn wood chips heart, and red star mini sequins. I use a Clever Sequin Pick-up Pencil to place the sequins on the pageI used my Motex tape writer and some green tape to write the title.
I added die cuts from Pink Paislee Snow Villiage collection (the pennants and the present); and used some stamps from Kellie Stamps - the handing ornaments from the Christmas 2013 stamp set. I used the SMASH* holiday roller date stamp, and I added some twine and enamel dots from my stash.

A Christmas Family Portrait!

Every year I try and remember to take a Christmas family portrait (with the Santa hats on hehehe). The girls constantly make funny faces so I take a few shots like that (yes we all like to get in on that act) then we take a nice one - what do you think??

I've used the December '13 full tart kit from Lime Tart for this layout. After I had decided on my photo placement I tore 2 pieces of the MME Mistletoe Magic patterned paper as shown then adhered them to a piece of matching cardstock from my stash.
Then I clustered a number of layers of the patterned papers, and one of the red tags, under my photos.
I used a stocking punch to make the stockings at the bottom of the page and I attached them (along with some twine and a bell from my stash) with the plastic tabs in the kit.
I added some of the sticker elements and alphas across the page, as well as some of the resin flowers and enamel dots.
In addition to the Dec'13 Full Tart kit from the Lime Tart store I've used Stampin' Up! stocking punch; D-lish Scraps Motex tape writer and clear tapeKellie Stamps "Santa define good" and "I've been good[ish]" from the Christmas 2012 stamp set; Studio Calico tree and starburst wood veneers, and coloured cardstock, gold sequin string, twine, and a bell from my stash.

On to my Crafty project. I just love to SMASH*. More recently I seem to have spent more time Scrapbooking but I was really just waiting for the Holiday SMASH* folio to become available in Australia so that I could start documenting our Christmas. Well, mine only arrived just over a week ago so I have lots of catching up to do!

These are 2 pages in the Holiday folio. I had to take 2 photos because there was a plastic page between them and I haven't decided what to do with that yet. The LH page already had a place to document your "Top 10 Christmas tunes" - what a great idea! I listed my favourites and left the page at that. That's what I love about SMASH*ing - there are no rules! And I love the unique and often quirky pages that you have to work with.
My photos were taken at Santa's Magic Cave in Adelaide where we took our daughter for the first time. The RH page was already a lot busier with a red chevron background so I kept my embellishments simpler.  I layered a bag & tag, white paper doilie and lots of diecuts from the Pink Paislee Snow Village collection. I love the gold colour and all the velum!
The angel was from a packet of metal Christmas embellishments I found at a "Bed, Bath and Table" shop - I'm always on the lookout :)

I also used a heap of alphas, stamps, wood veneer, washi, tags, flowers and twine from my stash.
So if you are looking for a quick and easy way to document December and the Christmas period I would thoroughly recommend you try a SMASH* folio.

It wouldn't be a blog hop without a giveaway would it!
I'm giving away an envelope filled with some of my favourite goodies for SMASH*ing . This prize is on offer for anyone worldwide.
In order to enter please be a follower of my blog and leave me a comment telling me your favourite Christmas song! Entries will close on 22 December.

There are also more prizes being given away on the other "12 days of craftmas" posts - please make sure you follow the entry instructions!

Elf On A Shelf!

Do you have an Elf at your house at the moment? This year we are lucky enough to have two - Elfie and Sparkle! They arrived the morning after we set up our Christmas tree and have caused great excitement ever since. Every morning my youngest searches the house to find the new adventures of the elves :)

I started this page by spraying a stencil (TCW script star bits) with green Dylusions ink and adding splatters across a white page.
Once this had dried I added some strips of various MME Mistletoe Magic papers along the top and under where the photos were going. I layered a white paper doilie under the photos and stuck them all down.

I used some stamps from Kellie Stamps - "funny little elf" and "elf on the shelf 2013" from the Elf mini 2013 stamp set. I also added a flair from A Piece of Cake Designs "Elf boy".
I added some D-lish Scraps embellishments, specifically Freckled Fawn dew drops arrows and enamel dots, Freckled Fawn wood chips arrow and heart, green polkadot button, cream Forget me nots, green sequin string, blue cherry blossom, white azalea, blue Dyed Wooden Button, white mini daisies, and some green mini sequins. I use a Clever Sequin Pick-up Pencil to place the sequins on the page.
Lastly I added a title using some alphas from my stash, and included the date using my Pebbles roller date stamp.

Never Lose Your Sparkle!

As we were putting up our Christmas tree this year I took some photos of the girls. They are not always cooperative when I get my camera out and often like to do their own thing while I try and pose them - this photo is so typical of my eldest, isn't she gorgeous though!

I've mainly used the December '13 full tart kit from Lime Tart for this layout. I started by using a star mask and some white dylusions ink spray on a kraft cardstock background. I also added some splatters of the white across the page.

Then I clustered a number of layers of the patterned papers, and one of the red tags, under my photo. I used some star punches and a scallop border punch to cut some shapes that I added across the page. I also added some of the sticker labels and alphas. The resin flowers and enamel dots provide additional colour and dimension to the layout.
I also added some twine, stamped words, and clear label writer words from my stash.
In addition to the Dec'13 Full Tart kit from the Lime Tart store I've used Stampin' Up! kraft cardstock, star and scallop edge punches; D-lish Scraps Motex tape writer and clear tapeKellie Stamps "I love this girl" from the Best Friends stamp set; and red and brown twine from my stash.

This scrapbook page has been published in the Scrapbooking Memories magazine. It was in Vol 17 No 6 in the "Christmas" gallery.

Riding on Nimble!

I just love visiting the Magic Cave in Adelaide. It is still exactly as I remember it as a child. My favourite things there are the 2 horses, Nipper and Nimble, and the funny mirrors. I always would dream of being the lucky girl who could ride Nimble in the Christmas pageant!! Jessica loved having a ride on Nimble too!

I started this page by splattering red and green Dylusions inks across a white page. Then I trimmed this page and matted it on a piece of MME Mistletoe Magic paper.
I then matted my photo on to some more of the MME paper and layered it with a gold paper doilie, a shipping tag a small velum bag, and a Christmas Journal-it, from D-Lish Scraps.
I used my Motex tape writer and some green tape to write the title along with some Studio Calico Alphas.
I added some velum die cuts from Pink Paislee Snow Villiage collection; and used some stamps from Kellie Stamps - "favourite" and "moment" from the Christmas Tradition stamp set.

Lastly I added some more D-lish Scraps embellishments, specifically Freckled Fawn dew drops arrows, Freckled Fawn wood chips arrow and heart, bitty blooms, cotton twinegreen canvas pick 'n' place bow, white daisy, green polkadot heart button, green polkadot button and cream Forget me nots.

Visiting Great Grandma!

Life in Details is a challenge blog for people that live SMASH*ing or pocket page scrapbooking (eg Project Life). The December challenge is "Anything Goes"!

These SMASH* pages capture photos from a recent visit to my Grandma, my girls Great Grandma. It was great for them to spend time with her - we should do it more often. We all enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, having cups of tea and eating!! We also took the opportunity to visit the nearby beach on the way home - brrrr it was cold and windy!

On the LH page I've layered a photo over a chevron bag then embellished with some paper flowers, resin flowers, a crochet doilie and some enamel dots. I've added some twine and washi to my tag. I've used a wood veneer arrow and some arrow washi from Freckled Fawn. I've added a flair, some SN@P word stickers and some Silhouette diecuts.  Lastly I've used a Kellie Stamps "Out and About" stamp from the I made this stamp set.
On the RH page I've added similar products (my favourites!) as well as some paper doilies!

The Magic Cave!

The latest December '13 full tart kit from Lime Tart is packed with Christmas scrapbooking yummyness! It is so much fun re-living special Christmas moments and traditions when you scrapbook. I have spent the last 3 weeks reorganising my craft space in a major way and haven't had an opportunity to craft, so I really enjoyed crafting with this gorgeous kit!

The papers in the kit are MME Mistletoe Magic. For this page I chose the "letter look" paper which has a Santa postmark and Christmas Wishes sentiment already on the page. I then sprayed some inks on the background. I've just started using the Dylusions ink sprays and love the intense colour they give!
I then layered a heap of the papers under my photo along with a paper doilie that I also sprayed with Dylusions ink, and a red tag that is in the kit. I cut a label from one of the cards in the SN@P December Documented pack (also in the kit) and attached it to the left of the photo.
The embellishments in the kit include some gorgeous green ribbon that has wired edges so you can shape it, some enamel dots, some Studio Calico alphas and stickers, some candy cane brads and some resin flowers. I've added these on my layout for interest and to add texture and dimension.
I'm entering this in the MME December Challenge "Dear Santa".

In addition to the Dec'13 Full Tart kit from the Lime Tart store I've used D-lish Scraps Motex tape writer and clear tapeKellie Stamps "visiting santa" (discontinued), "Christmas" and "Tradition" from the Christmas Tradition stamp set; and gold twine from my stash.

Fashion Diva!

As well as all the lovely bright colours found in the gorgeous October '13 Half Tart kit from Lime Tart there were some more subtle pieces of cardstock. The one used as the background for this page is one of my absolute favourites at the moment - it coordinates with the colours of  many of my eldest daughters clothes too!
From the kit I've used the patterned paper, a glassine bag, twine, and thickers.
I've also used a wooden flower flourish from the September 13' Gourmet Tart that I have sprayed with white mist. Wooden embellishments are perfect for spraying to suit the colour scheme of your layout!
I had some white doilies that I altered to suit the colour scheme of my page by spraying with Colorshine.
In addition to the Oct'13 Half Tart kit and September 13' Gourmet Tart  from the Lime Tart store I've used D-lish Scraps bitty blooms & cosmos daisies; Kellie Stamps "you make me smile" from the Just for you stamp set, "perfect photo", "cheese", "smile", "Insta moment" and "picture perfect" from the Picture Perfect set; Studio Calico wood veneer bird; Freckled Fawn wood veneer arrows; Pebbles roller date stamp; Simple Stories Sn@p word stickers; and a tag, cupcake paperclip, crochet doilies & flair from my stash.
