All About The Selfie!

Polaroid style photos are all the rage at the moment. I love the smaller size, the white border and the white space at the bottom to add some journaling. Instant cameras like the Fuji Instax are also hugely popular for people that do SMASH*ing and Project Life. I really didn't want to buy another camera so I came up with my own way to get the Polaroid look! It seems obvious once you know how but I have many queries all the time so I thought I would share here.

I import the photos into a Word document then I resize them and leave white space around each photo. For my SMASH*books I usually resize the photos to 6x8cm. The photo on this layout is 8x11cm. I fill an A4 page with photos (I usually get 8 on a page) then I print them out on my Epson XP-600. Finally I trim into the polaroid look you see leaving a 5mm border around the top and sides and a 15mm border at the bottom.

Today I would like to show you another scrapbook layout I created using the gorgeous Nov '12 Half Tart kit from Lime Tart. The papers are so pretty!!

I just love this photo of my eldest daughter, I have used it on a previous SMASH* page and had to use it again for my Scrapbooking.

For my background paper I've used another of the Glitz Design Cashmere Dame collection papers that was included in the kit. I splattered some blue paint across the page then matted and layered a heap of the patterned papers behind the photo.
I added to the existing bunting on the background paper by hand cutting some blue banner elements from the cardstock in the kit.
I made my own rolled rose flowers using some circle punches and a scallop circle punch.
I used the alphas in the kit for the title. I completed the page by adding some wood veneers, rhinestones, sequins, diecut leaves, a row of pearls and flair from my stash.
In addition to the kit I've used a wood veneer from Freckled Fawn, Prima and Studio Calico; Flair from A Piece of Cake Designs; Stampin' Up! punches; KaiserCraft rhinestones; and sequins, chevron bag, & shipping tag from my stash.

Fire Fighter Jessica!

Today I have the third and last page I created using the July Cupcake kit from A Piece of Cake Designs.

I've used a photo of my youngest daughter taken when we visited the fire station in Adelaide. We had such a fun day. The children used one of the large fire hoses and got to look over the trucks. Jessica loves to watch Fireman Sam - she pretends she is Penny!!

In addition to the kit I've used A Heidi Swapp heart stencil & Colorshine mist; Studio Calico wood veneers; Stampin' Up! red cardstockGive A Girl A ... "Hello" and the arrows from the You Are the Best setPebbles roller date stamp; twine, staples, paperclip, & sequins from my stash; and I've used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the "today" arrow.

Mama's Girl!

Today I have the second page I created using the July Cupcake kit from A Piece of Cake Designs

I just love to use white as my background colour and it works so well with the gorgeous bright colours in the kit. I've used lots of strips of paper here (probably my favourite way to use patterned paper), splattered the yellow paint over the page, used a strip of the washi along the bottom of the page, and I've cut out and used some of the patterned paper that looked like notepads.

I've used another photo of me and my youngest girl. She is still young enough to enjoy having her photo taken of me - too special!!

In addition to the kit I've used Studio Calico people wood veneers; A Freckled Fawn heart wood veneer; Stampin' Up! pink pompom trim & yellow, orange & blue cardstock; a doilie, paperclip, & flower from my stash; and I've used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the polaroid frame and "fun" arrow.

Live, Love, and Drink Milkshakes!

Wowee, my first post as Designer for Lime Tart. Very exciting for me!!

This month I've had so much fun playing with the gorgeous Nov '12 Half Tart kit. It is currently on sale for only $14.98 - that's a massive 50% off!! The papers are from the Glitz Design Cashmere Dame collection and they are very yummy.

The paper I chose for this layout was perfect for a background. It already had a mask pattern and other distress effects on it but I still couldn't resist splattering some black paint about. I added lots of strips of the patterned papers to my layout and hand cut some banner strips for the top. There was some sparkly gold glitter adhesive ribbon in the pack that provided instant bling. I used it on my page and also to cover one of the cardboard hexagons.

After covering the hexagon I punched a hole in it and attached one of the cherry brads. I've twisted some twine (Lime Tart have a great range here) into a flower shape and attached (with glue) to the page underneath the glittery hexagon. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut 2 polaroid diecuts, an arrow, and Hello tag from the cardstock in the kit.

I've also used some black chevron washi along the bottom. Finally I added some of the alphas for the title and to the polaroid.

I've also added some sequins, a chevron bag & tag from my stash (I love to hide my journalling), I've used some stamps on the Journalling tag, and a date stamp down the bottom.

I'll be back next week with more ideas on how to use this gorgeous kit!

In addition to the kit I've used a Stampin' Up! date stamp;  Give A Girl A ... "InstaMoment" from the Favourite stamp set and the chevrons from the Hello Arrows stamp set; and sequins, chevron bag, & shipping tag from my stash.

My Potato!

We have a large vegetable garden at our house and there are always yummy surprises to find out there. On this day a very large potato was dug up - way over 1kg can you believe it! My youngest daughter loves to go in the garden with her dad so it was fitting for her to pose for the photo. She really got into the photo mode and I took about 20 pics of her with different expressions - what a poser!!

I've use a gorgeous stamp by Give A Girl A ... ("you are absolutely amazing" from the My Home set). Remember to use the code KARYN for 15% off your order when you spend over $10.

I've used my 365 SMASH* folio and I've also used Angie Delarie vintage love camera, Polaroids Flying and Slurpie Cup digisStudio Calico wood veneers; Amy Tangerine stickers; and a bag, tag, twine & doilie from my stash.

No Chalk Boards Mum, Just iPad's!

I recently purchased the July Cupcake kit from A Piece of Cake Designs.
It was such a fun kit with bright papers, a fun stencil and some gorgeous yellow paint! love love love :)
I just had to do some more scrapbooking so I did 3 pages, all a bit different.

For today's page I used a gorgeous photo of my "Happy Girl". I took the photo on my birthday while we were waiting for her school bus in the morning. I always see lots of fun sayings on scrap layouts but have never been very creative myself - I was quite proud of myself for coming up with this one.

In addition to the kit I've used Heidi Swapp Colorshine to spray the stencil; I've splattered some black watercolour paint; Studio Calico chevron & bird wood veneers; Prima house wood veneer; Freckled Fawn heart wood veneers; Stampin' Up! washi, arrow paper clip & mini clips;  Pebbles roller date stamp; Give A Girl A ... "Happy" from the Currently mini stamp set & "Girl" from the Thrifted stamp set; a Charms Creations embellishment.

Looking Fabulous in Red!

Recently a friend turned 40 and had a birthday bash with the theme of red (and a bit of black) and formal. It was fun buying a new dress, jewellery & shoes and having an "up-do" especially for the night. I used rhinestones on this page to copy my earrings, and I included the invitation.

I've used my 365 SMASH* folio and I've also used  Give A Girl A ... you are the best, my home and picture perfect stamp sets; D-lish Scraps sequin bow; Glitz large rhinestone; Stampin' Up! black cardstock and red glitter paper; Spellbinders fancy tags die; Silhouette Cameo to cut out the glitter alphabet; and rhinestones, washi, bag, tag & doilie from my stash.

This is another SMASH* page from "Grandfriends" day at my daughters school.

Come to School with me Poppa!

Today's SMASH* page shows some photos from "Grandfriends" day at my daughters school. They love showing Grandparents and other friends their classrooms and some of the work they do!

I made a "flower" using some twine - I wrapped a few coordinating colours around my fingers a few times then knotted the middle. I then fiddled with it a bit to look flower like. What do you think? I quite like the effect.

I've used a heap of the fun stamps from Give A Girl A ... ("Today" and "Hello" from the I Made this stamp set; and the arrows from the Hello Arrows stamp set). Remember to use the code KARYN for 15% off your order when you spend over $10.

I've used my 365 SMASH* folio and I've also used Prima wood veneers; Dear Lizzie stickers; Studio Calico butterfly and heart stickers; The Greatest View mini doilie and flair; Stampin' Up! washi; October Afternoon woodland park washi; and twine, metal charm, heart stamp, bag, tag & doilie from my stash.

Girls Day Out!

Today I have final scrapbook page made using the fun "Colour my world" kit from Polly! Scrap kits.
I still have heaps of products left and will have to do some more scrapbooking soon :)

I love to use little chevron bags and tags to hide my journalling on the page. I love interactive elements like this and also because I blog most of my pages it keeps it hidden.

In addition to the kit I've used a Crafters Workshop arrows stencil sprayed with Heidi Swapp Colorshine; Stampin' Up! blue and orange cardstock; tag, bag, twine and doilie from my stash; Pebbles roller date stamp; October Afternoon flair; and I've used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the polaroid frame and "fun" arrow.
